Broadway Recovery Serves More than 170

YOUNGSTOWN – Broadway Recovery Services worked with more than 170 residents over the course of 2020, Executive Director Adam Lonardo says, and is at capacity at all of its sites.

Founded in 2018 by Lonardo and Jason Kmentt, Broadway Recovery operates five sober recovery houses for men with drug and alcohol addictions.

Because of the pandemic, most in-person sessions were transitioned to telehealth services. In-home meetings, peer mentoring and recovery programs continued, and no residents got COVID-19.

“Helping the residents in our care deal with the unexpected challenges through continued treatment and peer support was honestly our greatest accomplishment this year,” Lonardo says.

Broadway Recovery’s fundraising also went digital last year.

The company launched the Race to Recovery Virtual 5K, which was also used to encourage residents to begin their own exercise routines, and the Helping Hands Virtual Tree, which collected holiday gifts for residents and their children.
