HERMITAGE, Pa. – At the start of 2020, G.W. Becker Inc. had just finished construction of an addition to its factory here that increased its size by 60% and expanded its production capabilities.
When the pandemic hit, the overhead crane manufacturer relied on its backlog of orders to maintain employee levels, making cuts as necessary, says Elyssa Wiesen, marketing director.
The company is looking to add staff in sales, engineering and production.
Project engineer Prince Samuels, a native of Jamaica, became a naturalized U.S. citizen this year. He came here to attend college and play soccer. He has since obtained his master’s degree and several certifications and is working toward another master’s degree.
