Ursuline Sisters Name Kennedy Chief Mission Officer

CANFIELD, Ohio — The Ursuline Sisters of Youngstown this week announced the promotion of Brigid Kennedy to chief mission officer. Kennedy is president of Ursuline Ministries and will continue in that role in addition to mission integration, planning and operations responsibilities for the Sisters.

“Our Mission encompasses our sponsored ministries and those reflecting our charism, from legacy ministries where we have long had a presence to new partnerships that reflect our commitment to Gospel service and social justice,” says Sister Mary McCormick, general superior. “It also includes care for the Sisters whose lives have been the embodiment of that call to witness God’s love in our world.”

Kennedy has more than 24 years of service with the Ursuline Sisters.

She serves the Sisters with leadership in finance, HR, strategic planning, resource development and their COVID response, she noted.

“Brigid has great vision for the ministries and compassion and respect for our Sisters,” McCormick said.
